Foamplus Tubes from Storopack are narrow, transversally formatted cushions, which are filled with light polyurethane plastic foam. This new format broadens the Foamplus Bagpacker’s capability by offering another versatile form of product protection. The number of cushions per padding string is just as freely selectable as the size of the cushions and the amount of filling.
By integrating film sections entirely without filling, foam cushions are only used in the packaging where they are needed. The foam cushions from Foamplus Tubes are shockproof and offer very good shock absorbance.
For example, two lengths can be practically combined for all-round protection in the package: they are placed cross-wise in the empty carton, whereby only the upper length has foam cushions in the bottom area. After the product has been put into position, the longer strand of upper cushioning material is folded downwards – so that transport safety is now ensured from all sides.
Foamplus Tubes are also used in so-called reverse logistics for high-quality products such as laptops. As the application is very simple for the packer, this minimises possible usage errors and lowers the number of complaints. Due to the resilience characteristics of the material, Foamplus is a practical alternative to the original protective packaging, which is no longer available when products have to be returned.
By pre-producing the foam cushions, packers will have a small supply which they can then use as needed. If Foamplus Tubes are manufactured on-demand, the properties within the foam continue to expand for a short period before hardening. This can be advantageous during the actual packaging as the foam can then adapt itself to the contours of the goods being packaged.
